Official Opening of the King David Museum
On Thursday, March 18, 2008, the streets of the Old City of Jerusalem were mobbed with dignitaries from different walks of life, genealogists, friends and onlookers as Susan Roth, Founder and CEO of the King David Museum, officially cut the red ribbon that heralded its opening.
After her heartfelt and inspiring address, which highlighted the significance of the Museum- its mission and goals, and the importance of perpetuating King David's lofty ideal, the public was invited to ongoing personalized tours of the Museum.
Following the on site launch, invited guests joined Mrs. Roth and her team from the United States and Israel to an elegant celebration including a champagne reception and a full course dinner at one of Jerusalem's top hotels. Among the guests were many who, like Mrs. Roth, could trace their lineage to King David. Thus , this event has accrued much media coverage and public recognition as the "first reunion of the Jewish descendants of King David" in the past 3,000 years.
